Cantaritos Mexican Cocktail Kit

Cantaritos de barro cups are traditional small clay cups that are staples of street fairs in the Mexican state of Jalisco.

Known by locals as “the best way to drink tequila,” the jarritos de barro mexicanos cups are inspired by the Mexican Cantaritos cocktail. This cocktail is made by rimming the cup with lime juice and chili salt, squeezing fresh lemon, lime, and grapefruit juice in the cup, and adding a splash of tequila and grapefruit soda.

Cantaritos cups are humble, with a lot of character and history. Their clay material is perfect for maintaining a cocktail’s cold temperature, and the handmade nature evokes memories of generations worth of fun.

Care Instructions

• Clay Cantaritos Cups - Traditionally meant to be refilled during the night at street fairs, then treated as disposable. We have finished our cups with a special glaze to reinforce them. With proper care the cups could last for some time, but are easily breakable and not dishwasher-safe.
• Hand juicer - Hand wash with warm soapy water. Not dishwasher-safe.
